Back in the early and mid 1900s, one of the most legendary homes around the United States was that of the Avila family. They had everything that money could buy, and then some. And they were a very secluded family, their mansion was blocked off from the outside world by woods all three sides stretching over 30 miles, and a huge lake in the back. The family's descendants continued to live in the same house for generations, marrying, having children, then dying and leaving the house to their male children.
Well, this continued for years, until about 1960, when tragedy stuck them. At this time, the residents were Alexander Avila, his wife Rose, and their two children, Christopher and Allison. A forest fire was raging outside in the woods surrounding the mansion, and it had soon engulfed the entire house. Alex, Rose, and Allison were all in the house and couldn't escape the fire, but thankfully Christopher, then 16, had been away during the time, and was now the only surviving Avila left.
The house was destroyed, but still belonged in the family to Chris. He had no use for it, and continued passing it down to future generations of his family. Eventually, in 2000, the house came into the possession of great grandson Justin. He was now a wealthy businessman, with no use for the old house, but his wife Sophia, then unemployed, had a dream to make a boarding school as a safe place for teens who had been through a terrible childhood, like herself. He used his money to have the necessary repairs and such made to the building, and in 2002 it was made into Avila Academy.
Avila Academy is like a safe haven for anyone with a troubled past. Whether it be abuse, loss of parents, any mental disorders (including eating disorders), or even problems with the law as deep as murdering someone (these students are watched very carefully). The school to most is a place where there are actually people who might be able to help them, but to others it's like a prison, keeping them trapped inside. There is very slim chance of escaping, the woods surrounding the building are as thick as ever, and so far no student has made it to the town during an escape before.
So come join the madness, get the help you need, or refuse the help and make life hell for your counsellors and teachers. You've had no choice in being sent here, but now it's your choice on how you behave once inside, because you won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
